BASS PRO TOUR Press Release

LEESBURG, Fla. — Across a decorated 17-year career that includes a REDCREST victory, one of the few accomplishments that had eluded Bobby Lane was a national-tour win in Florida. He’d come close – in fact, the last time the Bass Pro Tour visited the Harris Chain of Lakes, Lane finished second to Ott DeFoe – but had yet to lift a trophy in his home state.

Midway through the Championship Round at Suzuki Marine Stage 2 Presented by YETI at the Harris Chain of Lakes, it looked like Lane would have to keep waiting.

Matt Becker and Mark Davis shot out of the starting blocks, both amassing more than 30 pounds in the first period. Lane, meanwhile, started on the opposite end of Lake Apopka from where he’d caught most of his fish due to the strong south wind and struggled to gain traction. Halfway through Period 2, he’d tallied just 17 pounds, 6 ounces and trailed Davis by more than 20 pounds – and as the wind continued to increase in intensity, presenting baits and generating bites became more difficult by the minute.

2015 Bassmaster Elite St. Lawrence River Day 3: Evers Continues to Lead!

E2 on pace to win two in a row!
WADDINGTON, N.Y. — With several distinct patterns still in play and nine anglers within 6 pounds of the lead, the Evan Williams Bourbon Bassmaster Elite at St. Lawrence River is setting up perfectly for a dramatic finish on Championship Sunday.

Edwin Evers, who began Saturday’s semifinal round with a lead of more than 3 pounds, retained the top spot with a catch of 16 pounds, 6 ounces that pushed his three-day total to 60-2. But his cushion dwindled to less than 1 1/2 pounds, with Arizona pro Josh Bertrand (58-11), Texas angler Alton Jones (57-8), New Jersey pro Michael Iaconelli (57-0) and a suddenly red-hot Kevin Ledoux (56-5) of Oklahoma trailing close behind.
Evers stayed on top despite some early-morning trouble with his batteries.

What happened to Aaron Martens on Day 4?

By Luigi De Rose

If you look at the standings you will see that Aaron Martens finished in 12th on the final day. He scored a zero. A blank in the standings leaves a lot of us wondering. What happened to Aaron?

Aaron is fine and recent up-dated his facebook page. While journeying back to the weigh-in he clocks several nasty waves and ripped the motor from his boat. He is fine but couldn't make it back to the ramp under his own power so his final day catch was void.

Here is his statement from is page:

Aaron and the boat are out of the water and everyone is fine. He confirmed he had about 21 lbs of smallmouth. He was coming off of Lake Erie into the mouth of the Detroit River when he hit a combination of 3 or 4 giant waves (made by multiple freighter style boats) at just the wrong angle. The bolts that hold the motor on the boat snapped. He is working on securing the motor so he can trailer it back to the launch ramp.

He is bummed, but he did say he was happy for Chris Lane Outdoors for the win. Aaron knew it was a risky run and it just didn't work out the way he hoped.

We'll get more from Aaron soon.
