Legal Action against Water Wolf Copier

Getting Even with Copy Cat Companies
Originally written in Angling International
European tackle giant Svendsen Sport has started legal proceedings against a Chinese manufacturer which it says has been ‘blatantly’ copying its award-winning Water Wolf HD underwater camera.
Finally standing up to rip offs.
The Danish company says that copies of the camera, which won three awards at EFTTEX when it was first launched in 2014, have been appearing across Europe and in other markets.
Svendsen Sport’s founder and CEO, Lars Svendsen, said: “Recently, we have received information from business insiders that one-to-one copies of our cameras have been offered around the world. As our model holds three worldwide patents, we immediately acted and our international lawyer has started legal proceedings against all violators – regardless of whether they are importers or retailers.”
He added that the Chinese manufacturer has been located and legal proceedings have been initiated. Additionally, seven shops and two importers in Europe and Japan have been approached and all of them have stopped selling the fakes with immediate effect.
“Svendsen Sport, however, knows about several additional shops that are still trying to market the copies,” said Svendsen. “We doubt they will have any success selling them as the quality and functions are horrible compared to the much more advanced original.
“But we will fight for our rights whenever and wherever we see copies appearing.”
