Make the Most of Your Mapping with NAVIONICS

By Luigi De Rose

Most large waterbodies have extensive information but that doesn't mean that you cannot make the best maps even better. Navionics has created a mapping platform that allows boaters to refine their maps by creating the most detailed lake map in real time.

The Sonar Charts Live is also instrumental in developing detailed maps for lakes that don't have charts. This is amazing for those secret lakes and you'll be able to reference your map each time you're on the water. The best part is that each time you're on the water, you're improving your own map.

Depth data recorded while doing SonarCharts Live is anonymously shared with Navionics to improve SonarCharts™ for all boaters. Navionics integrates the sonar logs sent by individual users with existing data to ensure SonarCharts becomes more and more precise, even in the ever-changing conditions of sea, lake and river bottoms. Only Navionics accepts sonar logs from all major plotter/sounder brands and mobile devices.

SonarPhone is an exciting enhancement to the Navionics Boating app that connects your mobile device to sonar via Wi-Fi and displays the results in split screen with Navionics charts. It also enables enhancements to future SonarCharts™ anywhere you go. The new sonar feature is available now on Navionics Boating app for iPhone and iPad and is coming soon for Android devices!  We hope you enjoy trying it out.

Map an App!

Planning routes with multiple waypoints and complex conditions has never been so quick and easy.  Simply select your destination with a tap on the map and Autorouting charts the course.

Autorouting is an In-app upgrade available for iPhone and iPad that is purchased directly within the app:
Go to Menu > Upgrades & Apps > Autorouting
Before purchasing Autorouting, users must have purchased NavModule which creates the enhanced routing platform used for Autorouting.
