With the final event of the regular season wrapped up, Shaw put a bow on his second 7 Brew Angler of the Year title, and Ryan Lachniet took home Rookie of the Year. As for the Bass Pro Tour berths, that went down to the wire.

In the end, after every fish was weighed on Day 3, Lachniet, Connor Jacob, Carter Nutt, Brody Campbell and Will Harkins earned invites to the big show. The five qualifiers all put together fantastic years, and each will bring exciting talent and personality to the BPT. Finishing eighth in the points, Lane was the first man out of the cut, though hopefully his winner trophy and $100,000 check will help him get over the miss.

 Top 10 in the standings

1. Banks Shaw – 1141 points – $252,100 season winnings
2. Ryan Lachniet – 1126 – $72,100
3. Drew Gill – 1096 – $146,600
4. Connor Jacob – 1087 – $64,300
5. Carter Nutt – 1075 – $147,000
6. Brody Campbell – 1073 – $75,600
7. Will Harkins – 1072 – $57,900
8. Cal Lane – 1058 – $159,600

BASS Press Release

FORT WORTH, Texas — All it took was 53 magical minutes on Lake Ray Roberts for Easton Fothergill to take complete control of the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Classic presented by Under Armour.

The 22-year-old native of Grand Rapids, Minn., entered Day 2 of the Classic in third place, less than two pounds out of the lead. He had high hopes for Saturday morning, but it didn’t start out exactly as he planned, with only one bass in his livewell at 10 a.m.

Then, what he called “the 180” started — and what a turnaround it was.

Between 10:28 a.m. and 11:31 a.m., Fothergill caught three hogs that added a whopping 19-10 to his total. He finished the day with a limit of five bass weighing 29-6, giving him a two-day total of 54-5, exactly 8 1/2 pounds more than his nearest competitor.

No lead is too big, but the Classic compass clearly points to the young ace from the North Star State. And barring a complete collapse on Championship Sunday, coupled with one of his closest competitors yanking a huge sack of bass, Fothergill is a day away from winning the Ray Scott Bassmaster Classic Trophy and the $300,000 prize that goes with it.

Super New Sufix Advance Revealed at the 2017 EFTTEX

First look at the Sufix line
Sufix Advance combines a number of characteristics that have never been brought together in one line. It is the first monofilament to incorporate HMPE molecules. The exciting new launch uses a Magnetic Extrusion Process developed by Sufix that draws HMPE molecules towards the surface of the line during extrusion. This blending creates an abrasion-resistant surface without sacrificing suppleness or low memory. When you combine these factors with Sufix’s precision winding system and the line’s slick surface, the result is an easy-to-handle line that will cast long and accurately.

And it doesn’t end there. The HMPE molecules – the same material used in Dyneema fibres – reduce elongation of the line to the point where it has 50% less stretch than standard monofilament, translating to improved presentation, bite detection and hook setting.

Sufix Advance also offers superior knot strength, say its design team, who recorded 96% average strength during tests using a grinner/uni knot.  Combining HMPE molecules with hybrid copolymers is no small victory as they don’t naturally
