Doug Hannon Dead at 66.

Doug Hannon, "The Bass Professor," died at his home in Tarpon Springs, Fla., on Friday, March 29, following complications from surgery. His wife Lynn, lost her battle to cancer in 2006. They had no children. Doug is survived by brother and sister. 

Doug was a writer, big bass specialist, TV host and inventor. Here is sample of few of his great inventions:

  • the Mule Wedge anchor
  • Ninga Prop: a mini four bladed trolling motor prop that works with MotorGuide motors
  • The Snake: A weedless, top-water snake
  • WaveSpin spinning reel 
  • MicroWave spinning rod guides
  • Hannon's Moon Clock
  • Lunar fishing table
Doug was a big bass master who worked the clear rivers, pods and lakes of central Florida. His largest bass was 17 pounds.

Doug "The Bass Professor" Hannon Passes

Doug Hannon the bass fishing legend has passed. Very few details about his passing are currently available.  Doug, a Florida resident, hunted for big bass. He taught the world about the intricacies of big bass and their habits. Doug was an author, inventor, TV host, plus entered into the Fishing Hall of Fame as a Legendary Angler in 2000 having caught over 800 10lb+ Largemouth bass. It is sad to see a lion pass.
