Bass Cast Boats Partners with Renegade Bass Tour for 2018

All Renegade Bass events will be Bass Cat Quest eligible.

Bass Cat Boats, the premier manufacturer of high performance, tournament-ready fiberglass bass boats, has entered a multi-year partnership with Canada’s Renegade Bass Tour starting in the 2018 season. This will allow the company to expand their international footprint among Canada’s most serious bass anglers, much as it has done around the globe in recent years, in countries including Japan and Australia.
“Bass Cat is thrilled to work with Renegade Bass in the Canadian market,” said Kevin Short, International Sales Director and a much decorated veteran of the US pro circuits. “After fishing their events, I can say that RBT has developed the best tournament platform in Canada. From the Tour events to the 150 HP Opens to major international events like the Thousand Islands Open, no one has a better product and more exposure in this market than Renegade Bass Tour.”
Bass Cat President, Rick Pierce added, “We are extremely pleased to join RBT as a partner. Over the last several years we have watched their activity from the states through broadcasting on WFN and their following is growing. We look forward to a long relationship and with the efforts of Kevin and those in Canada, like JP DeRose, we will continue to grow our International presence.”
That exposure comes via not only the country’s most serious bass anglers, but also through multiple media channels. Over the past three years, Renegade has bolstered not only their tournament offerings, but also their angler education programs. Each year since 2015, they’ve increased their television programming, first on the World Fishing Network, and now adding on Waypoint TV as well. RBT tournament weigh-ins are livestreamed on Facebook as well as on the organization’s website.

Eric and Cal win on angry Erie!
 (Photo: B1)
Deferred by 2 days of high winds, the 2 Day B1 Port Colborne bass tournament became a 1 day event on the eastern portion of Lake Erie. Under rough seas, the 65 two-person teams ventured out onto the big lake. While a brave few ventured far into Erie on both the American and Canadian sides looking for smallmouth gold, a majority of the teams decided to play it safe and focus on fishing current breaks along the Upper Niagara River. Cal Climpson and Eric Santoro bested them all with a 5 bass limit weighing 24.06lbs. For their efforts they took the grad prize of a 2017 Ranger bass boat powered by a Mercury motor. With 22.93lbs, Neil Deleeuw and Terry Monaghan took second followed by Denis Kreze and Brent Cook who has 21.91 for third.

Danny Dunn New MC for FLW Canada!

Danny Dunn.
FLW Canada has a new man. That man is Danny Dunn. The new MC for all three events this year and the Championship on September 15-17th.

Danny was thrilled with this new chapter in his career. "I've been in the Canadian Tournament scene for close to 31 years and very few things really excite me, that is until the opportunity to work with the FLW family in 2017 came along. With field of new up and coming talented anglers mixed in with some of the veterans of the sport I truly look forward to not only watching some incredible catches come to the scales but conversing with each angler about their day's catch. Of course this not being my first rodeo I will have a few twists to keep the atmosphere light as well as get the crowds amped up for the weigh ins." states Dunn.

For more info on these exciting events contact FLW Canada here.

Telling Our Story

As we observe Remembrance Day tomorrow, we often think of the many brave people who gave their lives so we can be free. One of the greatest gifts that veterans ensured was the ability to freely enjoy the outdoors. In North America we can enjoy so much. Here's a great video produced by the Ontario Federation of Angler and Hunters on Telling Our Story.
