2011 FLW Champion Scott Martin Joins Okuma Nation!
Okuma FIshing Tackle is proud to have teamed with FLW Champion Scott Martin, both on tour and within The Scott Martin Challenge television series.
In getting to know Scott, we quickly realized that like Okuma, he shares uncommon enthusiasm for the sport. Sure, he won the FLW Cup in 2011, but rather than talk about himself, Scott's interest is often directed at YouTube videos of exceptional catches by anglers that have never entered a tournament.
It's about the fish. It's about the experience. It's about the energy and excitement of every day with Scott. And that's exactly why there's not another professional angler in the country that we'd rather work with to showcase Okuma designs and technologies.
Performance At The Highest Level
Serrano Reel and C3-40X Rod
The advanced Okuma low-profile platform began with Serrano, then grew with Citrix reels and rods in 2011. New additions for 2012 complete the tournament-level product line with 6.3-ounce Helios baitcast reels, 6.5-ounce, right and left hand retrieve Komodo baitcast reels, 40-ton carbon fiber Helios mini-guide rods and 40-ton carbon fiber upgraded C3-40X rods. With rod/reel combos beginning at under 10-ounces of total weight and unparallelled strength and sensitivity, Scott will have a balanced, technique-specific arsenal to compliment his exceptional skills.
Helios Low Profile Reel
HELIOS: Weighing in at just 6.3 ounces with a 6.2:1 highly versatile gear ration the Helios low-profile pairs with Helios rods in combinations beginning at less than 10-ounces.
Komodo Low Profile Reel
KOMODO: Available with a 7.3:1 gear ratio in right and left hand retrieve or a 5.4:1 in right hand, the Komodo's 11-bearing design including ABEC 5 spool bearings is a top competitor in every fishery.
Trio High Speed Spinning Reel
TRIO HIGH SPEED: Trio high-speed spinning reels with blazing fast line pick-up are the obvious choice when you want fish in the boat fast. The 6.2:1 gear ratio takes in 31-inches of line with every turn of the handle.
Helios Mini Guide Rods
HELIOS: All-New Helios Mini Guide rods feature 40-ton carbon fiber blanks delivering incredibly light, responsive and powerful fishing tools. Helios rods begin at 3.6-ounces.
C3-40X Rods
C3-40X: Redesigned on 40-ton carbon fiber blanks, technique-specific C3-40X rods have undergone a dramatic weight loss program. Zero foregrip, refined carbon handles, the series begins at 3.4 ounces.
EVx Rods
EVx: Think a Pro would only have taste for the very top-of-the-line? Think again. Scott's fallen for a number of the EVx rods, mainly in the heavy powers. His comments regarding their build, fit, finish and performance being on par with rods more than double their cost is well deserved.
